Sunrise RAC #77. Presents Cap and Gown 2026

Sunrise Chapter 77 Supports Literacy and Community ServiceOn Wednesday, April 29, 2026, EHP Demetrius Lee and the Companions of Sunrise Chapter No. 77 proudly donated 150 books to the McCrane-Kashmere Garden Neighborhood Library. The library staff and community members were extremely appreciative and gracious in accepting the donation, recognizing the positive impact it will have on local youth and families.
This initiative reflects the Chapter’s continued commitment to education, literacy, and community enrichment. As the Companions carried out this meaningful act of service, they were reminded that “Reading Is Fundamental.” By placing books into the hands of young readers, Sunrise Chapter 77 continues to help inspire learning, imagination, and future success within the community.
However, the day’s service did not end there.
As the Companions were preparing to leave, they were approached by a couple of young boys seeking help with a bicycle that had a broken chain and a missing bolt on the rear tire. Without hesitation, the Companions of Sunrise Chapter No. 77 sprang into action, working together to repair the bicycle and ensure it was safe to ride once again.
After the repairs were completed, young Messiah Brown rode away smiling, waving, and repeatedly thanking the Companions for their kindness and assistance. His joy and gratitude served as a powerful reminder that even the smallest acts of service can leave a lasting impact.
The actions displayed that day truly embodied the principles of the craft:
GOOD WORK … TRUE WORK … SQUARE WORK.
